Scarsdale resident Georgene Mongarella has received the White Plains Rotary’s Paul Harris Award, the organization’s highest honor.
Mongarella, a Rotarian for 17 years and is a past president of the White Plains chapter.
She served as chairman of the Rotary’s “Gift of Life” program, which arranges for foreign children with heart problems and their mothers to be brought to the U.S. for treatment. Under her leadership the number of people attending the annual fund raising event doubled, as did the amount of money raised.
Also honored were Bill Fischman and Carl Winterrose, who received service awards, and Rich Scanlan, who was recognized with a Paul Harris medallion.
