Motorists are advised that the northbound direction of the Bronx River Parkway will be closed between Harney Road (Exit 10) and Crane Road (Exit 12) from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 23-26.
County officials say the closures are necessary to conduct investigations as part of the Crane Road Bridge replacement project, which began last summer and is expected to be completed in 2015.
A detour will be posted for drivers heading to the northbound Bronx River Parkway, instructing them to travel eastbound on Harney Road and northbound on Scarsdale Avenue. They will then drive northbound on East Parkway and back onto the northbound parkway at Crane Road.
Local police officers from the Eastchester and Scarsdale police departments will be directing traffic at critical intersections along the detour route. Delays are expected and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
