This just in from White Plains City Hall:
The City of White Plains Youth Bureau will hold an Open House on Saturday, April 13 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. at its office, located at 11 Amherst Place.
Youth will have the opportunity to submit applications for summer employment. Parents and youth can learn about the more than 50 different after school programs and activities offered by the Youth Bureau, and register early for summer camps. Information workshops will be conducted for parents and youth on topics such as youth employment and “Growing White Plains,” a community agriculture project (Registration is required for these workshops).
In addition, New York Life Insurance Company will offer a Child ID program on site and there will be children’s activities sponsored by Straight A’s – an educational supply store for parents in White Plains.
The majority of programs offered by the Youth Bureau are free for White Plains residents. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and register for programs and summer camps early to ensure their children are productively engaged during the summer months and after school hours.
