At least the power is back on.
Despite objections from the village, Con Ed is expected to complete a gas line installation this Saturday (Dec. 15) on Heatherdell Road.
Ardsley officials say the work will require a temporary closure of Heatherdell Road between Concord Road and Chimney Pot Lane from 8 to 11 a.m.
Local westbound motorists can bypass the work location via Highland Avenue/Beacon Hill Road to Chimney Pot Lane. Eastbound motorists can avoid it by taking Powderhorn Road or Chimney Pot Lane to Beacon Hill Road.
Ardsley Manager George Calvi apologizes for any inconveniences this might cause. He says the village expressed concerns about excavating a major road during the holiday season, but the state Public Service Commission has ordered that the work be completed immediately.
