Cancer patients and Superstorm Sandy victims got a helping hand from the White Plains fire union Friday (Dec. 7) when the Bravest donated about $20,000 that was raised through the sale of T-shirts at the city’s annual Oktoberfest and a boot drive that was held shortly after the hurricane devastated the region.
“Our guys just wanted to find ways to give back to the community and this is what we came up with,” said Firefighter Kevin Clampet, secretary treasurer of Professional Fire Fighters Association of White Plains. “We want to thank the people of White Plains for being so generous.”
