Ashford Avenue will have a single lane closed from Southfield Avenue to Saw Mill River Road on Tuesday (Dec. 4) and Wednesday (Dec. 5) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This week, construction workers will install fascia netting and perform joint replacement on the topside of the bridge. These repairs are part of a $1.5 million project proposed by County Executive Rob Astorino and authorized by the Board of Legislators after concrete fell from the county-owned bridge and landed on the New York State Thruway.
McNamee Construction is contracted to perform the interim bridge work, which should be finished this winter. County officials say work on the bridge connecting Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry is moving ahead of schedule.
A $20 million long-range rehabilitation of the bridge is expected to be completed in 2017. It will be paid for with a combination of federal, state and county funds.
