White Plains and Valhalla region

Twins Brigida and Nick Capicotto, seniors at White Plains High School, have both received the highest awards in scouting.

Brigida, a member ofWhite Plains Girl Scout Troop 2970 earned the Gold Award in September for her work at the Westchester Family Services Head Start program in White Plains. In addition to serving as a teaching assistant to the pre-K class, helping with craft projects and reading to the youngsters, Brigida helped brighten up the class space for toddlers by painted colorful murals. In all, she completed 80  hours of volunteer service.

Nick became an Eagle Scout at White Plains Troop 10 in May after building a much-need sandbox for the Head Start program’s playground and rebuilding a gravel walkway between the playground and the classroom.
