The French-American School of New York has contracted an environmental research company to study a golf course acquired by the school last year.
During its yearlong analysis, Teatown Lake Reservation will determine how the school can restore the “natural character” of the former Ridgeway Country Club in White Plains.
School officials say the Greens to Green Conservancy project will create a 84-acre public space that features botany and wildlife native to Westchester.
The city is currently reviewing the school’s proposal to develop the conservancy and build a new campus.
Opponents of the plan have criticized the project because of concerns over construction and traffic.
