Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner’s plan to convert a vacant homeless shelter into a school for the developmentally disabled has little support from the county and is unlikely to proceed, according to several legislators.
Feiner is scheduled to meet Tuesday with a committee of the Westchester Board of Legislature to discuss his for the vacant WestHELP site in Valhalla. But Ken Jenkins, D-Yonkers, chairman of the board, and legislator MaryJane Shimsky, D-Hastings, said Feiner’s proposal for the county-owned property has “no support” among legislators.
“There is no support for that particular plan,” Jenkins said.
