Frances Stanley was re-elected as a commissioner of the Hartsdale Fire District, narrowly defeating one of her challengers.
According to preliminary results of tonight’s election, Stanley received 127 votes, securing another five-year term on the Board of Fire Commissioners. She fended off a challenge from Mark Cohen, a 27 year district resident and former member of the Ardsley Board of Education, who received 122 votes.
A third candidate, Richard Leo, who recently retired as a deputy chief with the fire district, got 42 votes. Stanley has served on the board for 26 years. The board has five seats and one is up for election each year.
