To any of you who are coming out tomorrow to Nanuet High School to watch the regional finals, especially the Class AA game, you might want to continue reading the updated schedule:
Regional finals
at Nanuet
Class AA: John Jay-EF vs. Union Endicott (Section 4), 3:30 p.m.****
Class A: Pearl River vs. Elmira Free Academy (Section 4), 5:30 p.m.
The decision was made to move the start time of the Class AA game to 3:30 p.m. is because of the weather tomorrow. As you all have probably heard by now, the temperature is going to be through the roof. The temperature is going to be near 98 degrees early on in the day. According to the state law, if the Heat Index is 96 degrees or higher then the first game will be suspended. So the logic here is that if Tony Toronto and the host officials and Nanuet can push the start time back, the temperature will have gone down enough to play the first game.
Now with the Pearl River game, it shouldn’t effect the start time of the game. If it does, it shouldn’t be enough to effect the light situation.
