Members of the Entrepreneur Club at Good Counsel Academy Elementary School recently (May 11) donated $293 and more than 100 pounds of food to to the Hudson Valley Pet Food Pantry, which will officially open on Wednesday (May 18).
Club members created a company and products to sell, with the proceeds going to a charity of their choice. The club teaches bookkeeping skills, product creations and teamwork. For the pet food project, the members had a concession stand at school tag sales and raffled off a giant Easter Basket that they created.
The club’s theme for the current school year was “helping animals.” In December they made a donation to the Elmsford Animal Shelter.
