The Greenburgh Public Library Foundation will begin accepting submissions next month for the second annual Westchester County Amateur Photo Contest in the spring.
The contest focuses on both adult and high school student amateur photographers throughout the county who do not earn a living, now or in the past, as a professional photographer.
The contest will be juried and prizes will be awarded to winners in the two categories. In the amateur adult category, there will be a first prize of $500, second prize of $200, third prize of $100 and two honorariums of $50 each. In the high school student category, there will be a first prize of $150, second prize of $100 and third prize of $50.
Photos selected to be in the juried competition will be judged by a panel and placed on exhibit in the Howard and Ruth Jacobs Family Gallery in the Greenburgh Public Library from May 3 to June 11. Winners will be announced at an award ceremony and reception scheduled for May 14 at the library.
Certain restrictions do apply, so view a copy of the full contest rules available at the library or online at www.greenburghlibrary.org/photocontest. Submissions must be made digitally (via e-mail) and submitted as a jpeg file between March 15 to 31 to: email@example.com
Photographers whose work is selected to be in the contest will be charged a $10 contest entry fee. The fee will be waived for high school photographers.
Greenburgh Public Library is at 300 Tarrytown Road in Elmsford.
