The Foundation for the Advancement of International Studies, a White Plains non-profit, will be holding its first fundraiser on Monday, Oct. 4. The event, held at the White Plains High School atrium and B1 cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m., will coincide with a visit by a student group from Suzhou High School in China, who also will be attending the night’s festivities.
The fundraiser, held with the help of the White Plains Middle School’s Global Ambassadors program and a WPHS/Rotary group called Interact, will include a potluck, music by the high school’s Songwriters Club and a slide show.
Admission will be $5 per family and $3 per individual. Families are asked to bring a dish with them for the potluck. Proceeds from a silent auction and admissions will go to foundation scholarships for exchange programs and local events, said Allison Taylor, a parent and FAIS board member.
