Seven female high school junior and senior students can win an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the National Foundation for Women Legislators annual conference and receive a $3,000 college scholarship.
Applicants must write an essay addressing this year’s topic, “Freedom and Civic Virtues,” in which they must describe how moral principles and the United States Bill of Rights shape the role of young adults in civic engagement.
The conference provides college-bound women with the opportunity to network with hundreds of women lawmakers from across the United States, while learning about public policy and receiving valuable leadership training. It will take place from Nov. 18 to 22, at The Ritz – Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando, Fla.
Entries must be received or postmarked no later than July 30.
The application and more information is available at www.womenlegislators.org.
