The White Plains rally would have looked a little different if the County had not suppressed dissenters. The Westchester County Health Care Reform Task Force was denied a permit to hold a “Counter Tea Party.” (Did it matter that the County Executive is a Republican?) I was there handing out leaflets explaining that 48% of our federal tax dollars are going to the military, mostly to fight unnecessary and unjustified wars. The rally organizers complained to the police who told me that even to leaflet, I must have a permit. In this case, they said, a local ordinance is more important than the Constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech! So—I guess it’s okay for the Tea Party to protest, but not anyone else. Thanks Rob Astorino, our County Executive, for making sure nobody would be allowed to show the Tea Party up for the frauds they are.

Strange someone had to bring up race; this movement is about America not race. But since you bring up race, one of the organizers of the New York Tea Party movement is a man named David Webb, who is an American of African heritage. Guess he must be racist too. No, he is an American, period, plain and simple. GOD bless him and all people (regardless of race. Leave it out of the equation) who make this country great. America is the people not the leaders.

I was amazed at what a horrible job the police did in controlling traffic, this is my exit and it took me 40 mins to get past it.

These protestors were rude, I certainly gave the racist a peace of mind, small crowd for a county of 1 million +

Most of the people I talked with were registered Independents/libertarians..It was nice to see the voters who made the difference for Obama in the last election, coming to their senses. I’d like to thank Mr. Astorino for allowing two SEPERATE sights for both sides on this debate to protest, and let their voices to be heard. Very organized, friendly, the police did a great job. The camp of sour opinion must be from the group of the 40% that are allowed by this administration to not have to pay any taxes, I can assure them that those taxes that were blocked till the end of 2010 by the Bush Presidency, will change. Their taxes WILL go up to, and their benefits slashed. I will see them out there next year…when the Obama administration comes to collect from them! NO-ONE is exempt from these taxes/inflation. God bless our Constitution! Registered Independent Robin N.Y.C.

Nobody shut down the counter protestors that is a lie, i was on top of the stairs the whole afternoon and was able to see them standing there the whole time and we have the video to prove it. Once the head protestor for the counter group left they fell like dominos.

As for the racist comment, I hosted the event yesterday I’am a 24 year old born in America however if you trace my family lineage back to the bare roots you would find than my last name is Saudi Arabian (Tannura). Look up Ras Tannura one of the biggest oil ports in the world. I also have traced my ancestors to Malta , Sicily and Tunisia I’am what you would call a mut. Growing up in Westchester I attended the Greenburgh and Elmsford public school systems going to RJ Bailey and Alexzander Hamilton High School after spending 4 years at Mt Carmel for pre school – 4th grade. So when you call us racist I take that very personal , as somebody who grew up in a very diverse area with many freinds from different cultures i find this very offensive and ignorant. I sir do not have a racist bone in my body and you really need to think before you say things like this . I find it pathetic that your way of debating us is crying racism. But now your logic is falling apart because your #1 argument is that I’am racist against myself…

How come if we prostest this Administration we are automaticaly racist but when Bush was protested that was never an issue. I would also like to remind you President Barrack Obama is half white many of you tend to forget this maybe it is you who are racist because when you see him all you see is a black man , when i see Obama i see my 44th President of the Great Country of the United States.

God Bless America and keep on fighting on Tea Party Goers!!
