Greenburgh Police Officer Peter Dandreano, who runs the department’s Community Emergency Response Team, has donated surplus medical supplies to the AFYA Foundation, a non-profit organization located at 510 Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers.
C.E.R.T. donated the supplies, which are stored in case of a civil emergency, because they were due to expire in the near future and would have been discarded. The donated inventory included cases of bandages, burn kits, disposable surgical sponges and stretcher sheets, oxygen masks, gauze, bandages, trauma dressings and disposable aprons and gloves.
All of the listed items were shipped to Haiti on Friday, January 22.
