I spent some time today photographing a dress rehearsal for White Plains High School’s upcoming production of Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible,” which brings the politics of the Salem witch trials to life on stage in the Little Theatre at WPHS this weekend.

I got some funny looks in the newsroom right before I left for my 4 p.m. assignment. As it turns out, pointing and shouting “I saw Goody Proctor with the deviiilllll!” is lost on most adults who didn’t do drama club in high school. I did get a chuckle out of one of our copy editors, who confessed to portraying Judge Hathorne back in the day.

The show opens on Thursday, and I must say, this cast is good. They’re REALLY good, actually.

Also, if you happen to notice that the actors playing John Proctor, seen above, and Francis Nurse, seen below on the right with fellow cast member Evin Feldman, look an awful lot alike, you’re not seeing double.

John Proctor is portrayed by Luke Taylor while his identical twin Griffin takes on the role of Francis Nurse. There’s absolutely no witchcraft or supernatural phenomena at work.
